This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
As an elementary school occupational therapist, I have the opportunity everyday to shape the minds and hands of little learners. My students are curious explorers. They are excited whenever there is a new toy or new supplies they can engage with. This curiosity is a great way for me to add interest and builds on new skills with them.
I begin every therapy session with a table-top fine motor activity.
The purpose of these activities is to build strong fingers and hands for all skills needed in life, especially handwriting and effective computer skills. I have chosen these tools/toys, such as Wikki sticks, to make fine motor strengthening activities inviting and encouraging for students. By donating to this project, you will also be supporting my young learners gain the skills they need for life.
