This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

What I love about my students is that they come to school every day with a smile on their face and honestly just really happy to be here. School is their escape from the rough home life, where many of them don't know if food and water will be available or if their school uniform will be washed for school the next day. To have that kind of strong will and keep grinding every single day is what makes them so special!

My Project

These materials will help make a difference in my students learning by allowing them to experience something that they have never had before. Majority of my students can't afford a gym membership and have never touched a single piece of weight lifting equipment. I would like to change that and start building a weight room at our school to encourage students to live a healthy lifestyle. The weight benches and floor mats would be used for our boys & girls after school sports program which includes volleyball, basketball, and soccer. This would help student-athletes achieve and maintain a health enhancing level of physical fitness that would last a lifetime!
