Striving for Success

My Students

My students are inquisitive individuals. They are very eager to learn and positive students. They are always wanting to try new things and to learn in a fun, creative way. They are busy students who love achieving and succeeding.

My students are creative, outgoing, and determined learners.

They love reading, working with numbers in math, exploring science, and digging deeper into the text and content. They love school and learning, especially because they get to socialize and interact with others.

My Project

Throughout the day, we are constantly learning. My students work extremely hard each day, so I like to reward them with prizes and rewards. Fidget toys, creative pens and pencils, and other small toys are a great way to motivate students to work hard to earn money for our class store. We also use folders inside of our desks each day to keep our papers and material organized, and we have realized the sturdier the folder the better. At times during the year, we have to have inside recess, so I am trying to provide fun games and activities for students to use while they are indoors.

Each day my students are becoming exceptional mathematicians, readers and scientists.

Every day my students are using whiteboards and erasers to practice the different concepts we are learning that day in math. When my students use their whiteboards, I am able to assess their understanding quickly. I am also always looking for new supplemental material for my students to help them master concepts for math, grammar, figurative language, comprehension, and science. A Teachers Pay Teachers gift card will give me access to this supplemental material to help all my students master specific concepts and material.

Each year students in fourth grade are invited to participate in a program called Battle of the Books. This program is designed as a competition at the end of the year. Students battle against each other on certain books they are asked to read throughout the year. Our library does provide all the books for the students to use so they can participate in the challenge. Unfortunately, the books at the library are checked out frequently, so I am hoping to provide them with the books in our own classroom for easy accessibility and more opportunities to read all the books.
