My students are full of energy which is awesome for a team. They are rambunctious and challenging. They are ready to move and can not standstill. Whether in the gym, in a hallway, or out in the field with the team, they are an amazing group of young people.
It is a challenge to discover how best to address each of their individual needs but the journey to get there is fantastic.
Our school is a Title I school in Atlanta where 100% of our students receive free breakfast and lunch. Many of our students are facing many socioeconomic challenges that hinder their academic success. As I observe them interact with one another, enthused with the energy from a game, I regain my conviction that a future is possible and achievable for all my students.
My Project
With good basketballs, our teams will feel more confident with skill work in practice and during game time. There is nothing like seeing smiles on these young players' faces if they receive these items this basketball season. In all, it will just be and an exciting moment for our school, coaches, and staff. Our Athletic Director was also happy when we received the other items we as for. It was so shocking that he didn't know what to do with himself. Just want to say thank you.
