This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
What a group! I teach 3rd and 4th grade students in a self-contained 12:1:1 classroom. They are so special!
I am impressed with their drive to learn despite their "emotionally disturbed", "autistic", "learning disabled" and "speech and language impaired" diagnostic classifications.
For the first time in my teaching career, I am teaching students who favor all academic subjects. They enjoy sharing their individuality and uniqueness when we engage in our lively social studies or reading conversations.
I admire them collectively on one particular character trait that is so essential to success in learning -- confidence! My goal as their teacher is to direct their confidence to enhance their drive to learn and succeed in my classroom.
My Project
The materials requested are so important to the lives of my students. They will give them a boost in confidence in their self-esteem because they have attended to their basic physical needs. The sanitized wipes will ensure cleanliness in the room to ensure an environment suitable for an learning. Students have a difficult time concentrating and focusing on exercising their best efforts in learning academic material when they need tissues, sanitizers or incentives to keep them motivated.
The snacks and drinks will recharge my students to bring forth their best efforts in academic learning and performance.
My students come from low-income family homes and broken homes where these simple items are often not available.
These resources will satisfy my students needs. My students constantly need focusing prompts to redirect them to stay on tasks. I very often buy snacks for my students from personal purchases because I care for my students and want to cater to their essential necessities.
