Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Project

It is a well-known fact that music makes you feel calm and relaxed. Music has a unique effect on our blood pressure and heart rate and reduces them to make us feel more relaxed and happy. With the majority of our students being from East St. Louis, they already have a disadvantage to what most children experience regularly at school. Music is one in particular. With these guitars, we'll be able to build confidence in our students. Many students suffer from a lack of confidence in everyday life, and with these instruments, students will gain the confidence to play in front of others. Getting comfortable playing music in front of others is important and it will make all the difference which will bleed into other aspects of their lives.
