My Project

Our orchestra classes are comprised of students of varying musical abilities. Some are beginners, some are experienced, and some are advance...and they are all in the same class! "Strings Take the Stage" is a project aimed at providing an element of individual and small group independence and variety for students who would benefit from additional exposure and practice with music concepts they are developing in and outside of the classroom.

This book offers accessible, quality music arrangements of Broadway songs that will both challenge and engage our student-musicians.

Students will gain exposure to diverse styles, rhythms, and musical storytelling that some may find more enticing and relevant to their personal interests. Incorporating this material helps students develop musical flexibility, expression, and ensemble skills, while also increasing motivation and connection to the repertoire.

With our melting pot of active duty military families and community natives, our students come from diverse backgrounds and bring a wide range of experiences to the music room. What unites them is their passion for learning and their commitment to growing as musicians. Whether they dream of performing on stage or simply enjoy the collaborative joy of ensemble playing, they show up ready to make music together. Giving them access to Broadway arrangements honors their creativity, reflects their interests, and shows them that music education is dynamic, inclusive, and fun. With your support, we can help our string students truly take the stage and play the music that moves so many of them.
