String Ensemble Instruments for High School Band

Help me give my students much-requested violins because many students have expressed a desire to join the band if only there were options for string instruments, and these violins and accessories requested will be the first step in that direction.

My Project

Many of my 6th grade Music Ed and 7th-8th grade Gen Music students have expressed interest in joining band. However, they want the option of string instruments. We already have a bass guitar but there is one instrument most of them have requested, Violin.

Although they are not standard in a high school concert band ensemble, I believe giving students options and agency in their education is key to their success.

The last thing I or any music educator would want is to force a student to use an instrument they have no desire to play. If adding that one additional option is incentive enough to get new members to join, I believe it is a necessary step to take.
