My Project

Our students work all hard all year to learn the seventh grade math curriculum. The climax of our year is the Virginia SOL test in June. We spend so much time learning and reviewing, we love offering our students something enjoyable and educational to look forward to after the culmination of the test.

Each year we enjoy a String Art Project with all of our 7th grade math classes.

Students use their knowledge of the coordinate grid to create colorful geometric works of art. They are also learning the life skill of basic sewing! It's amazing to see how excited students are about the project during its introduction, their focus and attention to detail when creating their works of art, and the pride that shines when showing off their finished masterpieces! We need foam board, needles and thread to complete these projects.

It's a wonderful reward to end a year of hard work!
