My Project
As the end of the school year approaches, my 4th and 5th grade students are working on personalized music goals to achieve before summer. Many of my students want to improve their singing, dancing, rhythm, and collaboration skills. But, as I would expect, there are a few students who are thinking outside of the box- these students wanted to improve their playing skills on instruments they've never used before.
Our school does not have an elementary instrumental music class offered during the school day, which makes learning a new instrument inaccessible for many students.
For the students who want to take on the challenge of playing flute and saxophone, I am not able to provide them with the instruments to help them achieve their goals.
With these two instruments to start, I can begin to build a collection of instruments that will help my students dip their toes (or maybe more accurately, their fingers) into the world of playing wind instruments.
