My Students

My Prekindergarten students are highly motivated when it comes to learning, particularly at the beginning of the school year. By being able to provide visual images as well as hands-on, interactive activities, it will aide me in keeping them in that high energy, motivated state-of-mind all year long.

My preschool students are from a high poverty area of Michigan.

They typically come from single parent households where, given their financial situation, "extras" such as family vacations, trips and outings are simply unheard of and rarely experienced. A large percentage of my students receive most of their extras from exposure to experiences and adventures that come from within our Pre-K curriculum.

My Project

These interactive games for the tablet will allow my students to strengthen basic skills such as fine motor and language skills as well as letter/number/shape recognition skills and will expand to include addition/subtraction, word building, reading, and digital storytelling. The creativity packs will afford my students the opportunity to make designs, drawings and animated images.

Our brains and hands are connected: we think and understand the world with our hands.

The Tiggly system will enable my students to use the tablet to access many of the Key Developmental Indicators present within our current curriculum. The Crayola DigiPacks are the perfect creative accessories for our classroom Ipad. All of these products are designed to encourage children to be stretchy learners: who seek challenges, learn from mistakes and love being creative.
