My Students
I teach at a school in an urban area, where 97% of the students receive free or reduced-price lunch. Many of them struggle academically and lack the ability to be self-motivated and focus to do their best. I intend on creating avenues to bridge the gap of learning for them in both the inclusion setting and my resource setting.
Many of the students that I service need extra resources, modifications, accommodations, and teacher support to assist in their diverse everyday learning.
They all learn at different rates and have various learning styles. My students suffer from minor to severe disabilities which makes it challenging for them to feel successful in school.
Although my students have daily struggles to learn that are beyond their control, they try their best to make me proud. It is a good feeling to know that they are not only working hard to make their parents proud but also make me proud as their teacher. They are the reason that I work overtime to make sure that I am always prepared with lesson plans tailored to their learning styles.
My Project
Help my students to create individualized projects and assignments to be successful in an alternative school setting. We will utilized the new Essential Oil Diffuser to help create a stress free environment for both students and staff.
Our special education room is a safe space where scholars can come to relieve some stress and receive incentive snacks for a achieving or showing growth towards their IEP goals.
When this project is funded it will give my scholars a new sense of Black History pride. Our ink refill will continue to give our scholars have a place to print their projects to feel successful.
