My Project

When teaching students with disabilities, it is important to focus on regulation before expectation. If students are not regulated, how are they supposed to learn? The items on my list, including fidgets and sensory toys, will allow students to manage anxiety, and increase their ability to focus within the classroom. Due to financial insecurity within our community, students rely on school to provide the materials they need to be successful. A student named Mary (Grade 8) shared, "I am so happy to have my calm-down fidgets to help me learn. They help me have more patience and to focus on my learning. I hope you will give my class these nice school supplies so that I can do good in school".

In addition I have asked for bulletin board art to help make our school look bright and welcoming for students.
