Help me give my students a mini laminator with pouches, a diffuser ,essential oils and magnets in order to create a stress free creative active center!
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
The students at our school are eager learners looking to find a safe and secure place to learn. Many of our students are from immigrant families from Cuba, Puerto Rico, Honduras, and other countries that are faced with many challenges. Our school provides a home for a diverse and cultural community.
Our school is a Title I school in which our students come from very low-income families at many times below the poverty line.
90% of our students are on free or reduced-price lunch. Our school is located in the heart of one of the lowest socioeconomic neighborhoods where many parents do not even speak English. Within my classroom I also have several students that are English Language Learners as well as students that suffer from ADHD. These conditions at times make it difficult for students to learn and can benefit from any aid or assistance that they can get to help them to succeed.
Our students are in need of feeling secure and safe in their learning environment. Our students need to know that there are people willing to help to make a difference in their lives.
My Project
These items will make a huge difference in the lives of my students. With the laminator and pouches my students will be able to creative and use hand on manipulatives for active learning. Since many of my students have ADHD they can benefit from being active and engaging in group activities in which they are creating new learning experiences. The laminator will allow students to save their work in order to use it at a later date.
With a laminator and magnets we can create active group activity station for those rainy days when students can't go outside to recess.
Students enjoy being active and engage in group sports activities. When they are indoors it is much more difficult so in order to have our students be stress free, the diffuser and essential oils will allow them to feel calm on days they are not able to go outside and participate in athletic activities. They will want to stay inside and participate in hands on active learning in this station.
