This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I teach in a public preschool classroom in an urban environment that serves 20 students ages four and five.

My inclusive classroom is filled with diverse learners and English language learners whom all aim to please and strive to do well.

My young students value the diversity that exists in our classroom. I enjoy witnessing their appreciation and respect for one another and watching them build and maintain friendships with one another. I also enjoy the pleasurable and refreshing ways they express themselves and their curiosity and enthusiasm they apply to their daily explorations and discoveries.

My Project

The Lego Creative brick sets, Lego building plates, Lego animals and people, and LEGO Education My XL World will be incorporated into my classroom's S.T.E.A.M. Center to provide my young students with opportunities to explore basic S.T.E.A.M concepts. (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, & Math)

Providing my students LEGO-based engineering opportunities will assist in developing and creating their interest in STEM-related topics and STEM careers.

The ability to think 3D and visualizing shapes are essential skills architects, engineers, and artists need.

Engaging in Lego play will also enhance my young students' critical thinking skills, creativity, fine motor skills, spatial awareness, STEM skills, and self confidence.
