My Students
Building connections between old and new knowledge helps enlighten and enhance learning. Classroom discussions help broaden my students' knowledge base about the topics and ideas we're studying. Although my students attend a Title I school, they love working together, discussing new topics, as well as making connections between what they're learning and the real-world.
My students range in abilities and languages spoken--they are diverse learners who need a variety of teaching strategies to help them learn.
They love learning and thrive for knowledge.
My Project
My students need a Scholastic News subscription to build enthusiasm about and awareness of national and world issues! The students can work together to identify connections between what they already know and the content within the news articles to enrich their discussions and strengthen their reading comprehension. The students can participate in group projects and build their reading skills through close reading and critical analysis of the current topics.
Thomas Huxley once said, "Try to learn something about everything and everything about something."
Students can be excited about the content they're studying and make connections between what they know and what they're reading. The subscription will give them access to learning about more topics and build their love of reading one magazine at a time!
