My Students
At our Title I school with students who come from low-income or high-poverty homes, students are faced with challenges in and outside of the classroom. All of the students at our school receive free breakfast and lunch. Sometimes these meals are all that they may get for the day. Some of the students who come to my classroom face homelessness, live in shelters, motels, or are living with family members or friends.
Many students come to my classroom for extra help and support with their academic and social learning.
My classroom is specially structured to meet their needs. We strive to provide a full educational experience for all students, incorporating social skills, community skills, and functional skills into our daily routines.
My Project
My students are learning how to comprehend a text that we have been reading. There is so much that goes into understanding a text and my students have been working incredibly hard. Our class would greatly benefit from having the Finding Evidence Comprehension Kits to enhance their reading comprehension skills!
Students will use text evidence to support their thinking as they work to determine the main idea, make inferences and so much more!
These are hands on kits that will help students identify text features, character traits, authors purpose as well as comparing and contrasting! It would be a wonderful addition to our class that would increase reading comprehension abilities!
