My Students
Students in my class all live within walking distance of school, but despite their geographical similarities, they represent a myriad of backgrounds in terms of race, ethnicity, language and socioeconomics. At school, we focus on collaboration and find ways to work together to build a strong classroom and a stronger school community, by capitalizing on the strengths that come from our diversity. We work hard every day to make our great school even better and more inclusive of our diversity.
My Project
Think about how many times in a work day you stand up to get a coffee, see a colleague or just stretch your legs. In school, students are asked to spend a lot of time sitting, which we know now can contribute not only to disengagement, but to a host of long-term health problems.
By providing students with active seating options, we can help kids keep their bodies moving and their minds engaged during instruction and work times.
We hope to add Learniture Active Learning stools and fidget toys to our classroom so that students who need that extra physical engagement to stay connected to classroom materials can have their needs met.
