Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

We are an inclusion kindergarten class with a mixture of special and general education students, which means that we have a range of abilities in our room. We are looking to incorporate a variety of engaging fine motor skills centers for all our students to participate in, to help strengthen their hand and finger muscles and develop their stamina as they begin to get ready to start writing. The colorful letter trays with lids will be used to organize each center, so that students know exactly which color to grab when it’s time to break out into centers. The water beads and bead organizer trays will be used by the students to sort the beads by color. They will be forced to use tripod grasp in order to pick up each bead. The pop it beads will be used to snap the colors by patterns. The play doh extruders add some resistance to their fingers and thus develop strength. My students will LOVE working the extruder to see what shape will come out the other end once they push it through.
