Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I teach in a Title I school where 60% of the students are English language learners. Most of my students are in dire need of basic school supplies: journals, notebooks, and books to read (our public library is closed). The school provided iPads to students that needed them, but they also need to work with books, paper, and pencil.

My students need actual workbooks to continue to practice foundational skills: math, reading, and writing.

My Project

Unfortunately our school year was cut short due to COVID19. I was so proud of my students, they were engaged, hard working, and always ready to learn new things.

In order to be ready for first grade, students are going to need The Bridge to First Grade workbooks to review the skills we learned in class and on Zoom.

I send daily assignments, but when the school year is officially over, I won’t be able to ask them to do the assignments. It is my wish that they will have plenty of workbooks to do on their own or with little help from their parents.
