I love that I get to work with all ages K-6 from the cute little Kinders, who are full of excitement and hugs to the cool 6th graders, who are able to learn and demonstrate more physically advanced activities. I enjoy teaching them new ways to exercise and help them improve their skills like agility, strength, and cardiovascular fitness, as well as learning sports and other coordination building activities. I am hoping to be able to incorporate mindfulness this year, as well, with yoga!
Having a portable speaker will help to keep the energy and enthusiasm high during our strength and conditioning units for PE class. Music is a great motivator and makes exercise fun for kids. Agility ladders will help the students develop better speed, quickness, and conditioning, which will improve their overall fitness performance as well as benefit those students who play different sports.
A love of fitness is important to learn at an early age.
Learning about the muscles in the body and how to make them healthy and strong is an important factor in teaching elementary children fitness habits that they will carry with them throughout their lives.
