This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

The school day for students at my school can be long and demanding. There are 7 periods in which only two are elective classes and a 30 minute lunch. Brain breaks are necessary for mental health & to keep students focused and ready to learn. I want to provide straws for students to complete some fun STEM challenges.

The group build competitions will help my students learn team work and build a sense of community.

According to research, doing creative activities, even for a short time each day, can help with anxiety and depression. I can also utilize these straws for students who finish their work early and want to build something creative.
