This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
These vertical display binders will help to bring research-based reading and writing strategy information in the form of anchor charts up close and personal, directly to small groups of students, as it is taught. This brings necessary information for review and use while students apply presented strategies, clues, cues, etc. to reading practices and tasks, thus making it instantly accessible and limiting the distractions, especially for struggling students.
The binder aspect allows for quick change of materials as needed for instructional differentiation for students with disabilities and/or students learning English.
These display binders can serve dual-purpose, with reading anchor charts loaded one way and writing anchor charts loaded the opposite way. Materials can also be changed as learning targets change.
An enormous amount of valuable information can be stored in such an organized way and can eliminate students becoming overwhelmed. These binders will also enable interactive use by students with sticky notes and dry-erase markers.
