My Students

Some of the most incredible musicians I've ever met are the students I'm teaching right now. Each and every time these kids perform, they melt the hearts of the audience. No matter what age, from kindergarten up to eighth grade, my students give their best.

My students love to be engaged, to be a part of the music we are making.

They dance, they play, the read, they sing. There is never a dull moment when these students come to class!

My Project

I recently attended a workshop in order to enhance the engagement of my middle school students in making music that is current and relevant to them. I had approximately 20 guitars donated, but none of them came with straps. The students have been working on guitar for three weeks now, and it is painful to watch them struggle to hold the guitar. Straps will help them keep the guitar in place so they can worry less about it slipping and focus on the chords we are learning. I want to make sure my students feel confident and comfortable with learning a brand new instrument that can sometimes be challenging, but also very rewarding.
