My Students
My students are high school students in Algebra and Geometry. They are mostly freshman and sophomores. They are part of a very diverse community and come from a variety of backgrounds.
Some of my students have access to materials and some do not.
I want all my students to have the materials they need to succeed.
Many of my Algebra students have experienced struggles with math in the past and like to rush through assignments, so sometimes their lines aren't quite straight.
My Project
Having a small ruler available to graph lines and draw accurate figures is so important to math. It's great to be able to give all of my students a ruler to keep to remind them to attend to precision! They love keeping them in their backpack.
In the past, I've bought all my students rulers out of my own pocket because I know it makes a huge difference to the accuracy of their graphs!
Help my students have straight edges. In Geometry we have to do a lot of constructions with straight edges and compasses. I love knowing that all my students have what they need. Go math!
