This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
My students attend a Title I elementary school in Lynchburg, Virginia where 100% of our students receive free breakfast and lunch. As a teacher in a high poverty school, my students face a lot of challenges in and outside of the classroom. Despite these challenges, my students still have a strong desire to learn.
Over 75% of the students in my school are of racial minorities and over 50% of the students are black.
My Project
Help me teach reading both virtually and in-person with high engagement resources. Scholastic Storyworks Magazines has a wide range of text that covers a wide range of genres including both fiction and nonfiction passages. These Storyworks Magazines also provide a digital and print version of the resource which will help me provide high engagement reading instruction to in-person and remote students.
Scholastic Storywork Magazines also provides texts at multiple Lexile levels, videos, audio articles.
This will help me provide instruction to all my students on a level that is appropriate for them.
