My Students
My classroom is a kindergarten classroom in a Title 1 district. We currently have 30 students. My students are hands-on learners but love to use all of their senses to explore in the classroom. They love centers and to work in groups. My school is big on engaging children in inquiry-based learning and allowing them to move around the room to provide a move individualized education.
We are energetic and need the use of our multiple learning styles to maintain focus.
My Project
With a very tight budget this year, our school has had to stick to the very basics when ordering materials. Kindergarten is a place to learn through play. These items will enhance our story time greatly. We can now visualize the stories. These story telling kits will allow us to act out each story. With a better understanding of these stories, we will be able to point out story elements and details for a better understanding. We are striving to be great readers by the end of this year and these materials will make it so much easier.
This project will enhance my students ability to hit all their different learning styles.
This will ensure they retain and reinforce literary skills taught throughout the year. We will also use them in our listening center.
