Help me give my students books with characters that they can relate to!
FULLY FUNDED! Mrs. Angie's classroom raised $197
This project is fully funded
My Students
My students are the youngest learners who come from diverse backgrounds. I teach two sessions of preschool. Each session is a mix of typically developing students and those with special needs. In both classes, there are also several students that are English as New Learners. Each child comes to school with varying experiences and backgrounds. They need to be motivated and challenged every day.
We are a high-poverty district in which 78% of the students in the township qualify for free and reduced-price lunches.
I believe all children have potential and can participate in all activities given the right motivation.
My Project
My students need more books in the library to help pair with the curriculum. Students need opportunities to learn from books in all areas of learning. These books can be used for social-emotional learning, functional pre-academic learning, and functional skills.
My students need more books with characters and stories they can relate to.
The students will be able to access these books when in the classroom.
The books will be used for whole group learning as well as available for students to use for retelling the story and imaginative play in the classroom. The students will use these books to learn basic pre-academic learning skills.
More than half of students from low‑income households
