Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

The students at our school are amazing. We are one of the top Title I schools in our county, scoring an A or B for the last 10+ consecutive years. Our students and parents highly value education and it shows in all our students achieve.

Our student population is composed of 87% Hispanic students, 2.6% African American students, and 1.2% Asian students.

The majority of our students originate from Spanish speaking countries, primarily Cuba. 91.3% of our students are eligible for free or reduced price lunch.

Our school environment is one where students feel safe, valued, and cared for. We pride ourselves on making our students feel at home away from home.

My Project

Students are expected to carry out multiple projects throughout the school year in all subject areas. Some of these projects especially in science and writing require the use of tape, storage, and clipboards for mobility. Having these materials available to them will help them be successful in completing their projects.

These materials will also reinforce the AVID program at our school that teaches organizational skills for college readiness.

The use of the container bins will allow students to safely store their ongoing projects and allow them to stay organized. It will also allow me to maximize the time spent learning in class because everything needed will be organized and maintained.
