Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
Our goal is to create an inclusive and stimulating environment where every student can express social skills through art and maintain a clean and hygienic classroom. Although I strive to unleash my student's skills and talents, sometimes certain materials need to be stored safety. Having storage cabinets that lock will serve as secure and organized storage solutions for art and cleaning supplies, while enhancing the learning experience for students with special needs.
The cabinets will be accessible to all students by having adjustable shelves that contain labeled bins to ensure that students of different abilities can identify and access art supplies independently.
The cabinets will store a wide range of adaptive art materials such as different-sized crayons, ergonomic paint brushes, and textured materials for tactile exploration. Cleaning supplies will be stored on the higher shelves and distributed by an adult so the students can clean the work area for the next class. These cabinets will empower my special education students an organized and safe way to unlock their creative potential and provide them with opportunities for self-expression and personal growth through the world of art.
