This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Stories With Holes asks the audience to think critically about a story with a twist. Using only "yes" or "no" questions the group must figure out the hole in the story proposed. Using play on language and metaphor students ask the reader questions to find the solution.

When reading these stories with students it's of utmost importance to not give any clues and normalize failure as part of the learning and game process.

By following these two rules students come up with creative and at times, outlandish ideas, building their creative thinking skills.

My students LOVE when we take time out of our day for this lesson. An moan when I wrap it up. I want to give each student a chance to own their own book. Furthermore, I'm requesting funding for multiple different books with the hope that if each student has a different book of stories, they'll be able to play with each other outside of my learning environment. They of course won't have any of the volumes I own.
