Help me give my students a listening center filled with informational stories that they can explore! The follow-up phonics activity will engage them to perfect their skills in a fun and engaging center activity!
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My students are energetic, caring and willing to explore their learning. Most come from tough households and just crave the security of a warm, inviting environment. They are my joy! Their little minds are just waiting to absorb everything they are taught! Active and curious learners thrive with the nurturing the students get from a well designed classroom. My students come from a variety of backgrounds, which helps to foster independence and individuality, as well as working together as a community.
My Project
With these materials, my first graders will enjoy stories in a fun and engaging way!
The listening center will get them excited about books!
The new books have beautiful photographs that will pique their interests. They can use writing and science follow-up activities with the new informational books. Center time will develop listening skills while focusing on reading . The phonics boards will provide another hands-on activity to help these emergent readers to build fluency. The manipulative and colorful mats will get students excited to build words and sentences to further develop skills in literacy.
