This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My classroom is a buzz of activity, focused on giving kids the opportunities that they may not get elsewhere. My 3rd-grade class is in a high-need, low-income public school, nestled in the heart of southern California. Each of the students in my class is a vibrant, excited learner who looks for the next opportunity to gain knowledge.
Each child in my classroom is a unique learner who comes to school each day ready to achieve at the highest levels.
As a teacher, it is my job to make sure the students have access to the materials they need, at all times, as well as use those materials in a way that will facilitate higher learning and achievement.
My Project
Our school has a strong emphasis on science education throughout the year. We spend a great deal of time teaching various science standards, engaging in hands-on experiments, and working with real life science materials. However, these materials take up a lot of space in our room and are not as organized as they could be.
This tall storage case would be the answer to our science organization needs!
The drawers and shelves would make storing our materials easy and allow for immediate access to everything that we would use throughout the year. Our balance scales, cardboard ramps, growing materials, and everything else that we need to hit our science standards would fit nicely and in an organized way within this one cabinet.
Keeping our materials organized and readily available will make science a breeze to include in our classroom!
