My Project
As a long time teacher, I have collected many books over the years. I love reading and enjoy giving my students the opportunity to have a wide selection of books to read to help build their love of reading too. From picture books and easy to read books to middle school level chapter books, we have a terrific classroom library.
Unfortunately, every summer we are required to pack every item in our classroom so this shed will help keep my students books and materials in an organized manner for easy retrieval when needed.
Lifting these wonderful library books above my head onto my classroom cabinets is a hard task to complete. I usually come away with some bruises and a very sore body. With an outdoor shed, we can box the books and put them outside in the cabinet for summer storage with less pain and stress. This storage cabinet benefits my students and me; it will allow me to continue adding to our classroom library which my students love. Having a way to organize our books makes it easier to pull out books for my students to read and enjoy based on themes or holidays. I added some carpet sweepers since we do not currently have custodians to clean the rooms, and it's important for my students to have a clean rug to sit down and enjoy reading.
