This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
My students come from low income, non- committed families. These kids have made improved so much, they work hard, they come to school anxious to learn, and they love the relationships we build with them. They are funny, happy, and excited. They are beautiful and so strong considering the odds they are fighting. My students are an exciting addition to the world and give me hope for the future generation. These students deserve a classroom stocked with materials that will continue to benefit their learning.
My Project
I have chosen to add these utility carts to my classroom for students to have better academic success. At my school, we departmentalize in the fourth grade and for the first time students will change classroom halfway through the day. This is going to become a huge change for them and I want these carts in the classroom to help organize their supplies. These carts will allow me to have one at each table group filled with pencils, markers, highlighters, line readers, white boards, keyboards, headphones, and their daily work and needs. These will be a known space for them to receive their educational supplies.
