My Students

Hello from Kansas! I teach a classroom filled with wonderful first graders. Teaching a class of twenty first-graders is an exciting experience all of its own. Students at this grade level are learning how to be lifelong learners.

First grade is such a year of growth for all of my kiddos, and I want to make it as easy and fun as possible!

My students brighten my day. They are full of energy and excitement each and every time they come through the door in the morning. I want to be able to give them the best possible school/learning experience I can.

My Project

Our classroom, like many others, lack one thing...places to store stuff!! Kids have so many more supplies to bring to school than they used to and our room just doesn’t have as much storage space as it should to keep us all tidy and organized. We do have cubbies in our room so that the kiddos can put their supplies in, but as far as places to keep extra books and materials, we just don’t have the room. Also I am wanting to go to all flexible seating in our room in the next few years. So that means the loss of desks for storage as well. Then we really will need to have extra storage!

Students need room to spread out, store their materials and work with each other.

I would love for my students to feel like they had their own space to keep their school supplies organized and in a safe place.
