My second grade students love hands-on learning opportunities, practice through games, and other small group activities. Over 50% of my student population lives at or below the poverty level. Many receive free or reduced-price breakfast and lunch, some are homeless, and most are performing below grade level. School is a safe haven where my students feel safe and supported.
In spite of the challenges these students face outside of school, they love to be here every day to learn.
With your help, I can give my students fun math and STEM activities to support their growth. Every day, we focus on improving ourselves and growing a love of learning.
My Project
I have created math and STEM centers for my students; they just need storage containers so students can pick one! During our math and STEM time, students have time to choose an activity or game to practice and build. Right now I don't have any way to store these materials for students.
Your support of this project will help make the these activities easy to find and use for my second grade students.
Second graders love to have hands-on activities, and these will keep them engaged and challenged while they learn.
