My Project

I am so excited to meet my upcoming second-grade students—my class this year has been amazing and I’m so proud to see them moving forward.

As a first-year teacher, my biggest need this year was figuring out how to organize my classroom so that my students can quickly access all the materials they need.

Currently, they use two types of bins to keep their books and supplies in, and notebooks and other materials get misplaced frequently. I’m hoping to repurpose the current small bins they use to better organize the classroom library and to have them store their stuff on rolling carts right next to their tables instead. That way they will be quickly set up to grab what they need and start learning right away!

Heading into my second year, I am hoping to set my students up for success by having individual storage for each of them as well as quick access storage for math and reading centers that can be changed throughout the year and not easily lost like the ones I keep in plastic bags.
