Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
I'm reaching out to you to help transform my fourth-grade classroom into a vibrant hub of learning and exploration. With your support, we aim to acquire various sized storage bins to organize math materials, stationary, snacks, and indoor recess games These specific items are integral to our students' educational journey in several ways.
Firstly, by having designated storage for math materials such as linking cubes and base ten blocks, students can easily access hands-on tools to reinforce mathematical concepts, fostering a deeper understanding of abstract ideas.
Organized stationary encourages neatness and responsibility while ensuring students have the necessary supplies for writing and creative expression readily available.
Moreover, having accessible snacks ensures that our students can maintain focus and energy levels throughout the day, promoting better concentration and participation in lessons. Lastly, well-organized indoor recess materials provide opportunities for physical activity and social interaction, crucial for our students' holistic development.
What makes our students truly special is their resilience, determination, and unwavering enthusiasm for learning. Despite facing various challenges, 97% of our students are classified as high needs, and 90% come from low-income households, this is compared to a state average of 55% and 42%, respectively. Yet, they approach each day with a zest for knowledge and determination.
