My Kindergarteners, their families, and school are as dynamic as the surrounding neighborhood and thrive on the diversity of opportunities our school provides. I love that my students are energetic, imaginative, and excited to take on challenges. I strive to continually make my classroom a place where my students can build confidence and learn through their own curiosity and inspiration.
I love to harness this excitement by providing my students with opportunities to learn in a variety of ways.
Technology is an easy way to engage and challenge students. I am fortunate to have 3 iPads in my classroom. I now need the programs to support my students learning needs.
My Project
Outdoor play is a big part of Kindergarten. Large-motor play supports children's development in a number of ways. Running, climbing, swinging and riding all develop children's coordination, balance, and a sense of one's body space.
New tricycles in our Little Yard play space will excite and motivate my kindergartners to grow and play together.
More fresh air and outdoor play will make Kindergarten fun and full of multiple ways to engage in learning. Yard time supports gross motor play as well as cooperation and language development. These skills are put to use when students' are negotiating who goes first, how to take turns, and invent and plan new games.
