This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
As the nurse in the building, I am often the one the kids come to see for some of their most basic hygiene needs, including cold weather chapped lips, and cold hands.
The kids know they have my support and having daily access to free and necessary health supplies helps make them feel safe and cared about when not home.
Many of my students come from low-socioeconomic homes. The supplies I offer are not always available at home. Being able to provide them with basic necessities can make a huge impact on their day.
