My Project

The materials requested in this project will support all students in my classroom, especially those who have sensory difficulties. For example, students can wear noise-cancelling headphones during a musical concert, where they are sensitive to loud noises. Additionally in my classroom, I also have a calm corner, which is a safe space for students to take a break if they are showing emotions that prohibit them from learning at a specific time during the day. The calm corner is a safe and quiet space where students can go to "reset." In the calm corner, students can lie down on pillows while holding a stuffed animal, practice mindful breathing techniques, or play with fidget toys. The noise-cancelling headphones will allow the students to block out outside noise which will essentially help them calm down. Thank you so much for supporting my students and my classroom!
