Stop Light Blending

Help me give my students access to materials that will target early literacy skills such as physical objects to identify sounds, a stop light to visually support segmenting and blending, and texts to reinforce skills.

My Project

Research shows that reading comprehension is the product of decoding and language comprehension, also referred to as the Science of Reading. Therefore, in order for students to understand what is read, they need the skills to decode words while understanding the vocabulary which is presented.

This project will supply resources to my students that support language skills in order to decode text.

Students will use objects to support with sound identification, pop its to segment and blend sounds while supporting kinesthetic needs, and read text that are completely decodable. These resources will supply my students with an opportunity to expand their literacy knowledge and apply skills.
