This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

More than 60% of the world's students are no longer receiving their typical education, according to UNESCO. Because of the novel coronavirus, schools in 186 countries closed down — some for the remainder of the academic year.

Nearly 1.3 billion students are stuck at home after their school year was suddenly interrupted.

Students began trying to navigate distance learning. With little notice, teachers switched to virtual classrooms. Parents took on new roles as homeschooling became the norm.

Many of our students at home are struggling with access to the food and technology they previously received at school. More schools have stepped up to fill the gap by providing drive-through food pickup services and equipment to access the internet from home.

My Project

Small group instruction allows me to differentiate learning activities for my students and meet them where they are academically to push everyone forward.

This kidney table is even more amazing because the table top is made completely of dry erase board and they can write as I write.

While I am teaching new skills at the table, I can use a dry erase marker to write directly on the table for students to see up close. And students will get to practice and reinforce the skills by using the dry erase board themselves.
