I teach at a Title I school in Oklahoma City, where 100% of our students receive free or reduced-price lunch and breakfast. I am starting my fifth year of teaching because I love becoming a part of my students' success and I realize these students need someone passionate about teaching.
Our students come to school with a variety of hardships that we couldn't imagine.
However, I can not allow them to use that as an excuse to fail. In my classroom, I turn those hardships into motivation to overcome whatever obstacles are in their way.
My Project
A Science classroom should be the breeding grounds of collaboration but unfortunately, my classroom does not have all the tools to facilitate collaborative learning.
This project will fund a collaborative table with a whiteboard tabletop to facilitate critical thinking!
These tables will allow for easy conversion from solo tables to a small group collaborative table. Also, the whiteboard tabletop will encourage active learning! These tables will allow the students to complete science calculations, draw to assist with visual memory, doodle to assist with attention, take notes, and/or brainstorm or plan before writing. Thank you for supporting our classroom!
