My students need a Chromebook laptop, 25 copies of Bullying In Schools, and 3 button kits to help research and design anti-bullying messages.

Robert Kiyosaki said, "A lot of people are afraid to tell the truth, to say no. That's where toughness comes into play. Toughness is not being a bully. It's being able to speak out against bullying." With the Townsend Press books and a Chromebook, my students could make it clear: Stop the bullying!
My students go to school in one of the toughest areas in New York City.
School is supposed to be a safe haven, but lately, bullying seems to be taking over. Administrators and teachers are doing all we can to create a safe environment. But sometimes bullying takes place in areas out of our sight. Now it is time for the students to take charge and stand up to bullying. My students need to have literature that exposes them to the topic of bullying to help them learn how and what to do to stop and prevent bullying. With the book "Bullying in Schools" my students will start building self-esteem.
By using the book "Bullying in Schools" by Townsend Press, my students will explore and analyze their behaviors in regards to bullying and learn ways to deal effectively with bullying in the future. We will read true stories on bullying written by students. They will share their feelings on bullying through the eyes of the authors. This will give them a chance to speak candidly about bullying without revealing any personal or embarrassing situation that they might have faced. They will make the school become aware of bullying. The students will write about the different experiences they had learning about bullying. The button kits will allow the students to create a message of anti-bullying and to wear their message proudly. Lastly, they will write their own stories on the laptop in the privacy of their homes. In this way, they will confidentially share their writings with each other. This will also satisfy the Common Core State Standards in writing and technology.
My students need awareness on bullying and the negative effects that go along with this practice.
This project will encourage my students to be wonderful classroom citizens. They will learn ways to deal with the bullying issue. Bullying in Schools by Townsend Press and the laptop will help my students by giving them a way to understand and combat bullying.
