My Students

The art room is a place where students can get creative and be themselves. Our students are what makes our art program so grand and we want to continue helping these students progress in the art field.

Many students here at our school have tough obstacles to overcome; being able to thrive on their creativity is what keeps them coming back to the art room.

With over 52% of our students in the free and reduced lunch program, our school is in one of the poorest counties in the state. The situations and home lives that these students must endure doesn't hold them back from achieving their goals and neither should their classroom.

My Project

At the moment I have 9 tables setup in the art room with a mishmash of chairs and stools. The current stools have been welded back together many times and are too tall for my tables. The current chairs in my room are too short for my littles to reach the table tops comfortably.

The art room is about expressing yourself and in order to do that you need to be comfortable, not only with your surroundings but with the space you inhabit as well.

The stools I have selected for this project will be a great addition to our classroom, helping all the students with a comfortable seating option for the art room. From kindergarten to 12th grade these stools will be a great answer to seating in our room.
