Stocking Up for Science: Supporting Growing Astronomy & Biology Classes

Help me give my students a replenished supply of materials so I can serve expanding science and astronomy classes next year!

FULLY FUNDED! Ms. Pickett's classroom raised $745

My Project

My students are curious, hands-on learners who thrive when given the tools to explore the world around them. They come from diverse backgrounds, bringing unique perspectives that enrich our classroom discussions. Many have never used a telescope, conducted their own scientific research, or had access to the resources that make science come alive. I love watching their excitement grow as they make discoveries, ask questions, and connect what they learn to their own experiences.

This project will provide essential materials to support our expanding astronomy and biology classes.

The binoculars and wagon will allow students to participate in stargazing activities, helping them locate celestial objects and understand the night sky in a meaningful way. The plastic storage bins will keep our growing collection of lab materials organized, ensuring students can access supplies easily. The energy kits will allow students to experiment with renewable energy, circuits, and other physics concepts, making abstract ideas tangible. The beads for biology will be used in hands-on genetics and molecular biology activities, helping students visualize concepts like DNA structure and protein synthesis.

With these resources, my students will engage in deeper, inquiry-based learning that fosters their natural curiosity. My goal is to provide them with opportunities to experience science beyond textbooks, encouraging critical thinking and problem-solving skills that will benefit them in any future career.

My students are special because they are passionate about learning, eager to explore, and determined to succeed despite challenges. Many aspire to be future scientists, engineers, and environmental leaders. With your support, we can give them the tools they need to explore the universe—both in the sky and under the microscope! Thank you for helping us create a classroom where discovery knows no bounds.
