My Project

In the Health Office, we take care of 50 students a day. We are in constant need of Band-Aids, ice packs and water. On top of providing Band-Aids in the office, we stock every class room, field trip and the aftercare program with a first aid kit.

Our goal in the is to provide a peaceful, calm environment to treat all the boo-boos and tummy aches of all the students at our school.

We are often the safe place when a child is having a rough day. So often just the little kindness of a Band-Aid will turn a child's day around and get them back in the classroom and learning. Our offices are very bright and clinical with the overhead lights on. Our hope is to string market lights from the ceiling and and use that as a gentler light, so the health offices feel more calm and inviting than feeling like a hospital.

We are often the last budget line to get funding, and are spending our own money to provide the essentials to take care of our students. Our staff has nicknamed us the school moms, because the main focus on our job is loving and taking care of the students.

Ms. Lauder will only receive her materials if this project is fully funded by September 5.
