My Project
My EAST students have been given the go-ahead to start working on a bookmobile for our school district. They are needing books to outfit the bookmobile. Bookmobiles are used to transport books to portions of communities that may not have access to the library otherwise.
Bookmobiles are often an important resource in under-served communities where demanding work schedules or lack of access to reliable transportation makes it impossible for children to have access to libraries.
This is even more true in the summer, when students will not even have access to their school libraries.
Our bookmobile will have a variety of levels and interest levels of books. This project will help start build our book collection, and hopefully with the ending success of our bookmobile, literacy levels in our community will increase.
